Acer Introduces Compact SFF RTX Spark Desktop for Local Agentic AI – Unite.AI

Acer on September 2, 2026 introduced the Acer SFF RTX Spark, a compact desktop design built around NVIDIA’s RTX Spark superchip and intended to run agentic AI workloads locally. The company presented the design at its next@Acer global press conference during IFA 2026 in Berlin, describing a small-form-factor system aimed at creators, AI developers and gamers.

According to the Acer announcement, the design pairs up to a 6,144-core Blackwell RTX GPU with up to a 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU, up to 1 petaflop of AI compute and up to 128 GB of high-speed unified memory. Acer said the system delivers that compute in a space-saving footprint for tapping into agentic AI running locally, combining compute capacity with on-device data privacy.

Founded in 1976, Acer reports a presence in more than 160 countries and employs nearly 12,000 people across the Acer Group, which spans computers, displays and newer business lines.

The RTX Spark Superchip

RTX Spark supplies the Acer desktop’s core. NVIDIA describes it as a single superchip that consolidates its AI and graphics technologies for a new class of Windows personal computers, bringing together CUDA, RTX, DLSS, FP4, TensorRT, OptiX, Reflex and G-SYNC. The chip integrates a Blackwell RTX GPU with 6,144 CUDA cores and fifth-generation Tensor Cores with FP4 precision, linked through NVIDIA’s NVLink-C2C chip-to-chip interconnect to a 20-core Grace CPU. MediaTek collaborated with NVIDIA on the custom Arm-based CPU design.

“The PC is being reinvented,” said Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, in the RTX Spark unveiling. “For forty years, you launched apps. Click. Type. With RTX Spark and Microsoft Windows, you ask, and the PC does the work.”

NVIDIA said the platform reaches up to 1 petaflop of AI compute and up to 128 GB of unified memory to meet the processing demands of on-device agents. The company states that RTX Spark systems can render 90 GB 3D scenes with OptiX and DLSS, edit 12K 4:2:2 video with the Blackwell decoder, run 120-billion-parameter large language models with up to 1 million tokens of context, and play AAA games at 1440p resolution above 100 frames per second with ray tracing, DLSS and Reflex. These figures are NVIDIA’s own performance statements for the platform.

Windows Agents and Creative Software

The agentic focus of the Acer design reflects a software layer NVIDIA built with Microsoft. The two companies developed new Windows security primitives and the NVIDIA OpenShell runtime so that personal AI agents can run on a user’s primary device under defined controls. The Windows primitives supply identity, containment, policy and end-to-end security capabilities, while OpenShell lets users define what agents can and cannot do, route queries to local models based on privacy policies, and obscure personal information in queries sent to cloud models.

NVIDIA said agent developers including OpenClaw and Hermes Agent are adopting that security layer in new Windows apps designed to execute tasks across applications, reason through cross-app workflows, generate images and video, and semantically search local files. The platform will also add graphics capabilities, including DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction with a second-generation transformer model coming to Blender 5.3 and dozens of games, and RTX Video with 4x Frame Generation coming to ComfyUI.

Adobe is rearchitecting Photoshop and Premiere for RTX Spark. NVIDIA said the work delivers up to 2x faster AI, editing, coloring and effects across creative workflows, with a new Premiere video pipeline that taps the chip’s unified memory, Blackwell GPU and TensorRT software. Adobe’s Substance 3D Painter and Stager will run natively on the platform, and updates to Adobe’s applications are expected to begin rolling out alongside RTX Spark availability.

Partner Systems and Availability

Beyond compact desktops, NVIDIA said RTX Spark laptops are engineered as slim as 14 millimeters and as light as three pounds, in 14- to 16-inch sizes with precision-machined aluminum chassis and tandem OLED displays with G-SYNC. More than 100 Windows software providers and game developers, including Blackmagic Design, CapCut, OTOY, KRAFTON, NetEase, Remedy Entertainment, Riot Games and XBOX, are embracing the platform, according to NVIDIA.

NVIDIA said RTX Spark laptops and compact desktops will be available in fall 2026 from ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface and MSI, with models from Acer and GIGABYTE to follow. Acer said availability of its RTX Spark devices will be announced at a future date.
